Rutland Day

Our second day out of the 2021 season was at Rutland Water.

14 anglers took to the water with a mixed bag of weather. The day started cloudy with a SW breeze, and through the day there was a bright warm spell, a light shower at the start of the afternoon before a bright spell up to the end of the session at 5pm. Thankfully we avoided some isolated very heavy showers which were not far away. At the weigh in every member bar one caught fish, There were 41 fish weighedin, and anoth 37 released, giving a rod average of just over 5.5. There was stiff competition for the trophy for the biggest fish, with several fish in the 2 to 3 lb bracket, and the Trophy went to Rutland regular Dave Porter with a rainbow of 2lb 15 1/2oz. The winner of the Boat Voucher, kindly donated by Anglian Water, drawn out of the hat, was John Thompson.
